Quote Of The Day
"Congress could pass a statute limiting federal court jurisdiction to individuals not subject to trial before a military tribunal. Any legislator who votes "nay" on a such a bill will be voting to give foreign terrorists the same legal rights as U.S. citizens -- and more legal rights than members of the U.S. military are entitled to." --Ann Coulter

Separation Of Who And What?
Liberals are all about the separation of church and state... that is, until they see fit to interfere in church matters. Then of course, the church is being "somewhat childish" for expecting to be allowed to dictate what it will and will not do.
"Cheh said she hopes the Catholic Church will reconsider its stance. 'Are they really going to harm people because they have a philosophical disagreement with us on one issue?" Cheh asked. "I hope, in the silver light of day, when this passes, because it will pass, they will not really act on this threat.'"
I hope they DO act on this threat. If collaborating with the city on charity work requires Catholic Charities to adhere to anti-discrimination protocols that would compromise their principles, then Catholic Charities is completely within their rights to cease such collaborations.
While council members like to point out how many people will be affected by the Catholic Charities pull-out (while simultaneously poo-pooing the number of charities they are involved in... being a liberal must really be a mind-bending experience), they forget to place any blame on themselves. It is the council members who are refusing to add an amendment to the legislation that would exempt religious institutions from adopting protocols that they would find anathema.
If there is to be a separation of church and state, the Statists must remember that it is a two-way street. You stay out of our business and we won't tell you how to run yours.

"America needs conservatives more than it needs Republicans."
